RUSSELL: Helen M. (Brin) Champiney, 80, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Noble Hospital. She was born in Southampton, MA to the late Alvarez and Mary (Stefanski) Brin and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Westfield. Helen loved to make blankets and quilts for people and she fostered 35 newborn babies over a ten year span until they were adopted. She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, David E. Champiney, Sr., her seven children, 18 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and her brother and sister. Helen’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 11 AM in Holy Family Parish, 5 Main St. Russell, MA 01071. Burial will be private and in the spring in Russell Cemetery.
