Human remains found in Knittel Conservation

BLANDFORD- State Police assigned to the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office are investigating what appeared to be partial human remains in the area of the Knittel Conservation Area.

District Attorney Spokesman James Leydon said Nov. 18 that the remains were apparently discovered by hunters who reported it to the police. The remains were then transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further testing and identification.

Leydon said that police are still investigating if the person was the victim of foul play, but that there is no threat being posed to the area.

The Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are jointly conducting the investigation.
