WESTFIELD – Irene L. Carr, 85, died Sunday, September 23, 2012 in a local nursing home. She was born in Westfield on August 6 1927 to the late John and Sarah (Cook) Carr.
She has been a lifelong resident here and was a 1945 graduate of Westfield High School. Irene was a clerk at Westfield Pharmacy for many years and retired in 1992. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Westfield and taught Sunday school for 45 years.
She leaves her sisters, June Carr and Florence Sherman and her husband George; and her niece, Debbie Sherman all of Westfield.
The funeral service for Irene will be held Wednesday, September 26th at 11:00 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning. The burial will be at the convenience of the family.
