Jack E. Karlstrom

Southwick – Jack Elwyn Karlstrom, 82, (1935 – 2018) passed away peacefully on Thursday April 19, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born in Springfield to the late Maurice Karlstrom, Sr. and Karen (Berg) Karlstrom. Jack served his country honorably in the U.S. Army. He retired from Roncari Quarry in Granby, CT as Maintenance Foreman and also worked at the Southwick Water Department. He was a member of the American Legion #338 in Southwick and the Mount Moriah Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Westfield. Jack was a nature lover, enjoying hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and building and flying RC Airplanes. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Eader) Karlstrom of Southwick; his three children, Conrad of MD, Yvonne King (Donald) of PA and Cara Faipler (Freddy) of CT; four grandchildren, Kaitlin Welch and Paula Carboni (Nico), all of Westfield, Jack Faipler of the U.S. Airforce and Danielle Faipler of CT; great-grandson, Talon, as well as extended family, nieces, nephews and dear friends. He was predeceased by his siblings, Maurice, Jr., Tyola, and Cynthia. Calling hours are Saturday April 28th from 10AM – 12noon at Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Hwy with a service at 12noon in the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be in New Cemetery in Southwick.
