Jacob’s Ladder Business Association sets Holiday Shopping Spree

HILLTOWNS – The Jacob’s Ladder Business Association is sponsoring the first annual JLBA Holiday Shopping Spree, this Friday through Sunday, Dec. 8-10. The three-day event will encourage people to visit Hilltown businesses and to shop locally for their holiday gift buying needs.
The highlight of the Shopping Spree is the chance for one lucky shopper to win a $100 gift certificate from any JLBA Member Business of their choice. Postcards will be offered at all participating JLBA businesses beginning on Friday.
Any shopper can participate by requesting a card and obtaining one stamp with any purchase. Once the shopper obtains five stamps from five different businesses, they can mail their post card in by December 16. On December 21, a drawing will be held to determine the winner.

On Saturday, December 9, a Holiday Marketplace will be held at the Chester Railway Museum, 10 Prospect St, Chester from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Holiday Marketplace will feature at least 15 vendors, small businesses and crafters offering a variety of unique gift ideas. Refreshments and holiday goodies will be offered.

All JLBA vendors at the Marketplace will also offer stamps on Saturday. Moss Hill Tree Farm will also be donating a Christmas Tree in a separate drawing and each shopper at the Marketplace can enter to get a fresh tree. The drawing for the tree will be held at the end of the Saturday’s event.

“We are expecting 20-25 businesses to participate in the event, says Bryan Farr, JLBA VP Tourism & Historic Route 20, “You can start with a cup of coffee in the morning, shop in between and end with a delicious pizza – all in the Hilltowns.”

A listing of participating businesses and registration forms can be found at www.JLBA.org. Space is still available and new members are always welcome. Crafters at the Chester Railway Museum Marketplace do not need to be JLBA members.
