MAINE – James J. “Jimmy” King, Jr., 90, (1926 – 2016)  passed away peacefully on Saturday July 30, 2016 at Linda Manor in Leeds, MA. He was born in New Haven, CT to the late James P. King Sr. and Mae B. (Coughlin) King. Jimmy served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy as a Seaman First Class during WWII. Throughout his career, he was employed as a Sales Representative for over 40 years at multiple carpet manufacturers, retiring from Balford Floor covering distributors in 1986. Jimmy was proud to be a WWII Veteran and was a life member of the VFW, American Legion, DAV, AM Vets, VFW Cooties, Elks, Eagles and the Moose lodge. His favorite past time was spending time at his camp in Maine. He is survived by his four children, Keith F. King and his wife Dianne of Easthampton, Kevin J. King and James J. King, III, both of Southwick and Karen Zucco and her husband Vincent of Westerly, RI; his longtime companion and friend, Louise Kelleher; two sisters, Peg Fischer and Teri Galarani; twelve grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Judy King and by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his former wife, Ritorna (Sticco) King; his brother, Joseph King; his sister, Eleanor Gotta and by his brothers-in-law, George Fischer and John Galarani. Family and friends are invited to meet for a period of visitation Monday August 8th from 9:15 AM to 11:15 AM at the Southwick Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Hwy followed by an 11:15 AM funeral home service. Committal services with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
