Westfield-James J. McConkey, 26, passed away on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at home. He was born in Northampton on October 21, 1991. He was a lifelong resident of Westfield and a 2010 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. He was attending the University of New Haven for Sports Management. James was passionate for all sports. He leaves his parents Shaun and Nancy (Bye) McConkey of Westfield, his brother Jeffrey McConkey of Westfield and his sisters Marissa McConkey of Westfield and Serena McConkey of Brighton. He also leaves his maternal grandfather Joseph Bye Sr. of Hadley, his uncles Joseph Bye Jr. of Chicopee, John Bye and his wife Susan of Hadley, Frederick McConkey of N.Y.C., his aunt Terry Dryer of North Carolina, his cousins Logan and Spencer of Hadley and Sydney, George, Allisa, and Jaiden of North Carolina. The funeral for James will be held on Saturday December 23rd at 10 am in St. Mary’s Church, 30 Bartlett Street, Westfield. Burial will follow at the Holy Rosary Cemetery in Hadley. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4-7 pm at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield.
