WESTFIELD: James Michael Kirby, 77, of Westfield, MA, beloved husband for 57 years of Sharon (Milar) Kirby, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield, MA on September 1, 1944, son of the late William J. and Aline R. (Boutin) Kirby, he was a lifelong resident of Westfield, MA and a graduate of Westfield High School, Class of 1962. After high school, James started his career as a printer at Old Colony Envelope in Westfield. He later owned his own business, PDQ Printing which he ran for many years before taking a position with the Windsor Marketing Group in Windsor, CT where he worked for over 30 years until his retirement. His easy-going personality and his great sense of humor endeared him to everyone he met. James loved baseball and was a lifelong New York Yankees fan. He always looked forward to spending time with his family and friends, especially when he was able to play card games. We will miss the twinkle in his eye and his laugh when he beat us all. Most of all, James will be remembered for his dedication to his faith and his family. He was a longtime member of the East Westfield Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Along with his loving wife Sharon, he leaves four children, Thomas James Kirby and his wife Wendy, Kimberley Kirby, Tracey Miller and her husband James, and Tara Kirby all of Westfield, MA; three grandchildren, Ashley and Heather Kirby, and Emily Miller; and his sister, Patricia Campbell and her husband Bruce of Springfield, MA. He was predeceased by his brother, William Kirby; his wife Sharon Kirby of Wilmington, NC. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on November 6 via zoom. In memory of Jim, donations may be made to the East Westfield Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 117 Southwick Rd., Westfield, MA 01085.
