James V. Carroll, Jr.

FLORIDA: James V. Carroll, Jr., better known as Jimmy, 44, (1977-2021) passed away on July 29, 2021, in Oakland Park, FL. He was born in Springfield, MA to Nancy (Page) O’ Brien and the late James V. Carroll, Sr. and grew up in Westfield, MA. Growing up, he loved playing for Westfield baseball and football programs and this love was evident through his performance – he didn’t like to lose. He later tried BMX bike racing and brought home the first-place trophy the first week he participated. Everything he tried, he excelled at. Later in life, Jimmy was a car salesman, better known as his co-worker Mervin’s “sales manager” for Massey Yardley Jeep Chrysler Dodge Ram in Plantation, FL. He loved riding his Harley and updating it with the best and shiniest chrome pipes – the brighter and louder the better. He approached every acquaintance as an opportunity to make a new friend, many of whom became family. He was the bright light in many lives and will be missed dearly by his friends and family. Jimmy’s gift was picking people up when they were down and offering to help in any way he could. His ability to love and inspire others was something we should all aspire to.

Jimmy is survived by his devoted mother, Nancy (Page) O’Brien and her husband Lawrence O’Brien of West Springfield, his three loving sisters, Jill P. Gauthier of Bristol, R.I., Jennifer C. Willard of Westfield, MA and Michele A. Carroll of Amherst, MA, his cherished nieces and nephews, Paige Gauthier, Chase Gauthier, Michelle Costanzi, Colin Dunn, Aidan Dunn, Patrick Willard, Matthew Wojnar, Jacob Wojnar, Haleigh Wojnar and Cole Wojnar.

A Funeral Home Service will be held for Jimmy on Monday, August 9, 2021 at 11 AM at Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA followed by burial in Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield, MA 01085. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4-7 PM in the funeral home. Donations in Jimmy’s name may be directed to Honest Beginnings, P.O. Box 3699, Amherst, MA 01004-3699. www.firtionadams.com
