Jane A. Kielbasa

WESTFIELD – On February 5, 2020, Jane A. (Puza) Kielbasa, 90, died as she lived, surrounded by her family. Born in Westfield in 1929 to Charles and Angeline (Juszynski) Puza, she attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Westfield High School in 1947. Shortly after graduation, she met Joseph W. Kielbasa (1926-2005) of Westfield, who stole her heart and never gave it back. They married in 1952, and over the course of their 52-year marriage, welcomed five children, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren, as well as countless nieces and nephews. Jane enjoyed a successful career as a bookkeeper, but her greatest joy was in her family. She loved to travel and visited Europe several times. However, her favorite destination was Cape Cod in August with the cottage overflowing with family.

Jane enjoyed all sorts of crafting – her paintings, ceramics, quilts, and scrapbooks are family treasures. A lifelong parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, she served as Sunday School teacher, member and treasurer of the Rosary Society for over 50 years, parish secretary, and extraordinary minister. She was also a member of the Westfield Woman’s Club.

Jane is survived by her beloved children, daughter, Sandra, with whom she lived, sons Joseph and his wife, Nancy, and Charles and his wife, Melissa, and daughters, Mary Jane Smith and her husband, Peter, and Joanne Smith and her husband, David. Grandchildren: Jeffrey, Kevin (Corinne), Catherine (Michael), Sean (Laura), Andrew (Emily), Emma (Christopher), Molly, Rachel, Seth, Tessa, and Aaron, and great-grandchildren Lorelei, Cadence, Brynlee, Dante, Siena, Kieran, and Maximilian. She will be greatly missed by her sister, Frances and her husband, Mitchell, and her brothers, Robert and Michael, and her brother-in-law, Chester Kielbasa. Gone before her are brothers, Frederick, Edward, Wesley, and Richard.

Calling hours for Jane will be on Sunday February 9th from 2-5 pm at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, The funeral will be held on Monday February 10th at 9 am from the funeral home followed by A Liturgy of Christian Burial at Holy Trinity Church at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
