Jean A. Smith

Aunt Jean22WESTFIELD – Jean A. (Scott-Smith) Smith, 63, a resident of Westfield for the past seven years and formerly of Woronoco, MA, passed away suddenly at Country Estates of Agawam on Tuesday, July 16, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Jean was the daughter of Shirley L. (Wood) (Scott-Smith) Desmond of Southwick, MA, and the late Robert D. Scott-Smith.
Born in Pittsfield and educated in Southwick, MA, Jean was a certified home health care worker and a school bus driver for Lecrenski bus company for 14 years servicing the Gateway Regional School district. She enjoyed reading, cooking, and spending time with her family. Her favorite vacations were spent at Hampton and Salisbury beaches.
Besides her mother, she is survived by a son, Lawrence Scott-Smith and his wife Dana of Easthampton, MA; two daughters, Kelly Smith of Springfield, MA, and Molly Smith of Westfield, MA; two brothers, Robert Scott-Smith and his wife Louise of Hampton, VA, and Thomas Scott-Smith and his wife Lauri of Southwick, MA; three sisters, Ann Bessey and her husband Richard of Woronoco, MA, Linda Moynihan of Westfield, MA, and Beverly Bickford and her husband Michael of Greenville, ME; four grandchildren, Brittany, Liam, Eliza, and Ryan; a great-granddaughter, Halieah; three sisters-in-law, Cindy Scott-Smith of Southwick, MA, Patricia Johnson of Southampton, MA, and Lori Doura and her husband Michael of Southwick, MA; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and longtime friends, Sandy Clark and Linda Clark of Woronoco. Besides her father, Jean was predeceased by a brother, Richard E. Johnson, and a stepfather, Lawrence Desmond.
The family wishes to express their thanks to the Lecrenski bus company and their employees and Mary Keenan for their many years of support and friendship.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Jean’s Life on Wednesday, August 7, at 5:00 p.m. at the Southwick-Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick, MA.
