WESTFIELD: Jean C. (Clifford) Burke, 89, of Westfield died Sunday in McLean Nursing Home in Simsbury, CT.S he was born in Springfield on April 16, 1925, the daughter of the late Francis and Gladys (Fales) Clifford and was a graduate of West Springfield High School and the former Springfield Hospital School of Nursing. Jean was employed as a registered nurse for several years at Noble Hospital and was a visiting nurse for the Westfield Health Dept. She was also the proprietor of the Windsor Hotel in Hampton Beach, NH, was very active at the Hampton Beach Library, and very active in civic affairs. Jean was predeceased by her husband Paul in 2008 and her grandson Danny. She is survived by her four sons, Paul and his wife Peggy, Jeff and his wife Carol, all of Westfield, Chris and his wife Lisa of Southwick, and John and his wife Lisa of Hampton, NH., two daughters, Dee Burke of Hampton, NH and Nancy Cosgrove and her husband Chuck of Southington,CT. , a sister-in-law Kathy Clifford of Southwick, a brother in-law Lloyd Burke of Westfield, thirteen grandchildren, Matthew, Scott, Meagan, Andy, Bobby, Shanna, Jeffrey, Christopher, Colleen, Cathleen, JohnPatrick and Michael as well as seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Aaron , Quinn, Ryder, Kyle, Cailin and Clare. She was predeceased by her brothers, Ted Clifford, and John Clifford. The funeral and burial will be private. Donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N.
