Jennie S. Crooker

SOUTHWICK – Jennie S. (Strout) Crooker, 90, a resident of Southwick for over 60 years, has entered into eternal rest on February 12, 2013. Born in Harrington, ME, Jennie was the daughter of the late Mervin and Effie (Ramsdell) Strout. She graduated from Harrington High where she was the Class Valedictorian and County Basketball All-Star.
Jennie was proud of her service to her country as a WWII wartime Rosie the Riveter, she worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse, and was also employed by Hamilton Standard for many years. She loved being a member of the Christ Church United Methodist and her hobbies included being a lifelong Red Sox fan, rooted for the Dallas Cowboys, and was a world traveler.
Jennie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Harold Crooker; three sons, Stephen Crooker and his wife Pamela of Westfield, MA, Peter Crooker and his wife Dawna, and Michael Crooker; a daughter, Linda Lindemann of Agawam, MA. Her grandchildren, Jake Crooker, Nick Crooker, Casey Crooker, Heather Gill, Jodi Pepper, Ben Pepper and Shannon Byrd; her great-grandchildren, Jordan Gill and Sawyer Gill. Jennie lived her life to the fullest and loved being with her family and friends. She enjoyed the beauty and wonder of nature and all its glory and is now at peace with her Maker.
A Celebration of Life for Jennie will be held on March 3, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. at the Christ Church United Methodist, 222 College Highway, Southwick, MA. There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Church United Methodist.
