Pasta Supper to Benefit Westfield Baseball

WESTFIELD – Start with an Olive Garden salad, follow that with pasta covered in “Uncle Buddy’s” homemade marinara sauce, add in a chance to win any number of raffle prizes and you have the perfect Saturday night out in the city. And, while you’re enjoying good food and friends (bring them along), you will be supporting the Westfield Terminators baseball team as it prepares for a trip to play in a national tournament in Cooperstown, N.Y., this summer.
The Westfield Terminators baseball team will be sponsoring a Pasta Supper this Sat., March 2, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, located at 60 Broad Street. Supper will be served from 5:30-7:30 p.m. and is only $7 for adults and $5 for kids 12-and-under. There will be a 50/50 raffle and a Chinese auction featuring various themed gift baskets. Tickets are available at the door.
The Terminators baseball team was formed in the summer of 2007 by Ray Neilsen and Harry Seinkewicz and made its first trip to Cooperstown Dreams Park three years later. Dreams Park is a 22-field complex in Cooperstown that plays host to weekly tournaments throughout the summer. The teams are made up of players 12 and under and come from all over the country, from Maine to California. In 2012, the Terminators finished 86th in the 104-team tournament. This year’s Terminators will play in a handful of area tournaments before heading to Cooperstown Aug. 10-15.
Saturday’s pasta supper will be the second fundraiser for the Terminators, who hosted a middle school dance on Feb. 15. A second dance is tentatively scheduled for May 3 and a golf tournament at Tekoa Country Club is scheduled for May 19.
