WESTFIELD – Jerry L. Jahsman, 86, (1938-2025) of Westfield, MA passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18th at the Pioneer Valley Health and Rehabilitation in South Hadley with his loving daughter and son at his side. He was born on November 16th, 1938, to the late Lorenz Leo Jahsman and Verna Irene (Krause) Jahsman in New London WI.
In his teens, Jerry and his family moved to Fulton, NY. He was a 1956 graduate of Fulton High School in Fulton, NY and went on to study at Syracuse University where he played college football with the late Jimmy Brown. Jerry and his family moved to Westfield, MA in 1974. He worked for many years as a programmer’s analyst at Connecticut Bank and Trust (where he remained part of the “CBT” club), he continued on through mergers and acquisitions with Bank of New England, Fleet Bank and Bank of America before retiring. Jerry was an avid Syracuse University (Syracuse Orange), Dallas Cowboys and Boston Red Sox sports fan. His children had fun with that as they are Yankees fans!
He enjoyed fishing on Lake Ontario, was an avid reader and an extremely competitive game player. In Jerry’s younger years he loved to swim and was a lifeguard, he also loved to bowl and was an excellent bowler! Jerry had a beautiful singing voice, and the family enjoyed listening to Jerry sing Christmas carols. He was a kind and caring person who made a difference in everyone’s life. Jerry was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend whose presence brought laughter and love to those around him. He was known for his quick wittedness and was extremely intelligent. Jerry loved discussing current events with his family. Jerry touched many lives through his generosity, sense of humor, and compassion. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his family.
Jerry is survived by his two loving children, daughter Sherri (Jahsman) Alamed and her husband John of Westfield, son Alan Jahsman and his wife Penny of Westfield, two grandchildren, Cam and Derek Alamed, his brother David Jahsman and his wife Jacqueline of Cazenovia, NY, and his former wife, Dolores (Wilkowski) Jahsman, of Westfield, MA. Also not to be forgotten where his furry grand-dogs.
Jerry was predeceased by his long-time best friend, Richard (Dick) Murphy, with whom he shared many exciting memories.

A private burial service will be held at Little Wolf Cemetery in Manawa, WI at some point in the future. In lieu of a service, donations can be made, in memory of Jerry L.
