Joan Frances (DeFelice) Trimboli, 76, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on Friday November 4, 2016. Born in Springfield to the late William and Imelda (Long) DeFelice, she was a 1958 graduate of Springfield Technical High School. Joan was employed with the Message Center as a phone operator for many years and at Health New England Insurance as a receptionist for 16 years. She was a former communicant of Holy Name Parish in Springfield and most recently at St. Michael’s Parish in East Longmeadow. Joan loved animals, traveling and her trips to the casino. But first and foremost, Joan loved being a mother and a devoted grandmother. She was kind and compassionate and always put everyone else before herself. She will be dearly missed by her two sons, Daniel Trimboli (Heather) of Springfield and Anthony Trimboli (Tammy) of Chicopee; her sister, Carol Walas (Bob) of Springfield; seven grandchildren, Tony, Danny, Joey, Jennifer, Taryn, Michael and Adriana; sister-in-law, Angie Howell of East Longmeadow; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and a dear friend and co-worker Frances Reilly. The family wishes to thank Donna and Tony for their compassionate care, Tania, Greg and the Spear family as well as her Health New England family. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 44 years, Anthony D. Trimboli; her son, Joseph Trimboli, her twin sister, Jean Besancon and her brother, Robert DeFelice. Family and friends are invited to meet for visitation on Monday November 7th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Joan’s funeral ceremony will be held on Tuesday November 8th starting at 9:00 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow.
