Joan Kozak

WESTFIELD  –  Joan (Prince) (Frechette) Kozak, formerly of Depot Court Southwick passed away October 4, 2012. She was born June 13, 1930 in South Paris Maine the daughter of the late Maurice E. and Annie (Thomas) Prince.
She was raised and educated in Norway, Maine and a graduate of the Norway High School, Class of 1948.  As a young woman, she moved to Southwick where she had lived her entire life. She was employed as a press operator at the former Milton Bradley Co. in East Longmeadow for 22 years. Later in life Joan had been employed at the former Jones Supermarket in Southwick.
Joan was predeceased by her two beloved husbands, Arthur F. Frechette in 1972 and Phil F. Kozak in 1994. She is survived by her loving children, Mary E. Leary and her husband James of Sandisfield, MA, Annie L. Shiveley and her husband Patrick D. of Southwick; her three cherished granddaughters, Mechelle Farnsworth and her husband Jeffrey, Jodi O’Brien and her husband Robert, and Cyndee Shiveley and her partner Jay Kusnierz; seven adored great-grandchildren, Morgan, Ryle, Hannah, Jay Jr., Kara, Dustin, and Tanner her cherished great-great granddaughter, Emma and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services and burial will be private. There are no calling hours. The Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street, Westfield has been entrusted with all arrangements.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Southwick Ambulance Fund C/O the Southwick Fire Department.
