Westlake Village, CA: “Gratitude for what has passed and hope for the future.” Joanne M. Smith, (1958-2016) formerly of Westfield, MA, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2016 at after a 15-year journey with breast cancer. Joanne was born in Westfield, MA, on October 24, 1958, daughter of Calvin F. and Germaine T. (Levereault) Smith. She was a 1976 graduate of Westfield High School, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree and a Master’s Degree in Business from the University of Massachusetts. She was the Southern California regional sales manager for Wild Oats. Joanne was a member of the Westlake Women’s Golf Club, and club champion in 2004; she volunteered at the Thousand Oaks Library and the Cancer Support Community in Westlake Village. Joanne leaves behind her partner Dale Holden and her step-children Ryan, Jason and Meaghan, along with treasured grandchildren Nicholas and Alexander. Her siblings: Ronald Smith and his wife Jan, of, AZ; Alison Smith, of Maine; Richard Smith and his partner Sean Lynch, of Florida; and Kristen Biancuzzo and her husband Robert, of Massachusetts. Joanne also leaves behind 17 nieces and nephews, one aunt, Doris Smith of Westfield, and one uncle, Laurent Levereault of Vermont. Funeral Notice: A Celebration of Life will be held privately by family and friends on April 2 in Thousand Oaks.
