LeRoy W. Cook

flagSOUTHWICK: LeRoy Webster Cook, 85, (1930-2016) passed on from his home in Southwick, MA to be with his Heavenly Father, on 3/20/16. He was born in Boise, Idaho, the son of the late LeRoy B. and Mildred (Buhrmaster) Cook. He attended Santa Barbara Junior College. He proudly served 4 years active duty in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War. LeRoy retired from his position as National Sales Manager of Old Colony Envelope Company where he worked for 41 years. A founding member of Christ Lutheran Church in Southwick, LeRoy served as Head Elder, choir member, and chairman on the Building Committee. He also participated in the Crop Walk every year and volunteered at the voting polls. LeRoy loved to ski, especially with his buddies, The Deacons, and he enjoyed watching UCONN Women’s basketball, boating on Congamond Lake and vacationing in both Goose Rocks Beach, ME and Newport, RI. LeRoy is survived by his wife of 54 years, Shirleyann (Rutka) Cook; his son, LeRoy B. Cook II and his lifelong partner, Annie Brown; his daughter, Michelle Pratt and her husband, Christopher; his grandchildren, James Pratt and Chelsea Pratt; his great-grandson, Ryan Pratt; and his sister and her husband, Marlene and Donald Snyder. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 25that 11AM at Christ Lutheran Church, 568 College Highway, Southwick. Burial with Military Honors will follow in New Cemetery in Southwick.
