John M. Zomek

WESTFIELD – John M. Zomek (Grumpy), 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. John was born on September 8, 1938 in Southwick, the son of the late Stanley C. and Mary A. (Florek) Zomek. He was a life-long resident of Westfield. John proudly served his country in the United State Marine Corp, stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC. He worked as a group leader for Kaman Aerospace before his retirement. He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield. John was a big fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He never missed any of their baseball games or any of their events. He was an avid hunter, fisherman & gardner; skills which he passed on to his grandchildren.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Joanne (Osowski) Zomek of Westfield, his loving daughters, Lisa Miller and Linda Zomek-Gallo, both of Westfield. He was a cherished grandfather to Amberlee Miller, Michael Miller (Cindi Muszynski), Anthony Gallo (Jessica Guay) and Cody Jette (Brenda Bonilla). John was a caring brother to Stanley Zomek and his wife Marion, his sisters Loretta Fedora-O’Connor and her husband Donald and Carole Sullivan of Westfield. He was predeceased by his niece Karen Sullivan. John will be dearly missed by several nieces, nephews and to all who knew him. A burial with full military honors will take place at a later date at he Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
