June L. Lorenz

June L. (Baldyga) Lorenz,  86, passed away on January 3, 2019 at Baystate Noble Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born in Westfield to the late Anthony and Mary (Sadlo) Baldyga and graduated from Westfield High School. June went on to receive her nursing degree and was employed as a registered nurse for the Holyoke Soldiers Home for many years. She herself was a veteran and a breast cancer survivor, an avid bird watcher and an unparalleled card player. She was a dog lover and would often say that she preferred them over people. In fact June always said exactly what she was thinking, for better or worse, sometimes to the shock of those around her. Her quick wit and dead pan humor were one of a kind and not for the faint of heart. June was powerful and resilient, a hard worker and a sole provider for her children. She was also compassionate, forgiving and humble. Her unique blend of tough love and unwavering support will be sorely missed by all those who were fortunate enough to have known her, but June’s spirit of strength and endurance is very much alive with those she loved. She is survived by her six loving children, Steven M. Lorenz of North Carolina, Valerie A. Lorenz of Feeding Hills, Lawrence G. Lorenz of Louisiana, Janice L. Lemon of Westfield, Jeffrey W. Lorenz and his wife Sandra of Florida and Christine E. Lorenz of Westfield, her thirteen cherished grandchildren, Lisa, Jennifer, Michael, Racheal, Laura, Eric, Steven, Amanda, Timothy, James, Mackenzie, Mikey and Mary, and eight cherished greatgrandchildren. A Funeral Home Service will be held for June on Wednesday at 7PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in June’s name may be directed to the Westfield Animal Shelter, 178 Apremont Highway, Westfield, MA.  firtionadams.com
