WESTFIELD-Kenneth E. Johnson, 89, of Westfield died Saturday October 3, 2015 in a local nursing home. He was born in Southwick on February 16, 1926 the son of the late Edward and Lois (Matthews). Johnson and was educated in Southwick schools, moving to Westfield in 1989..Kenneth was an Army veteran of WWII, was a member of the Southwick American Legion Post 338, and a life member of the Southwick VFW Post 872.He was also a life member of the Southwick Lions Club, where he received the Melvin Jones award for outstanding service. He was employed as a manager at Pioneer Dairy of Southwick, where he worked for forty five years .Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of sixty-nine years, Evelyn (Niksa) Johnson, a daughter, Justine Witek of Westfield, two grandsons, Mark Witek and Bryan Witek and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Patricia Johnson in 1951 and his son-in-law Kenneth Witek in 2014. The family would like to thank Renaissance of Westfield and Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Kenneth. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 11am at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Southwick Cemetery, Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday from 5pm until 8pm.
