SOUTHWICK – The Southwick Rotary Club will be hosting a special guest speaker at Tucker’s Restaurant this Wednesday at 6 p.m. Michael Knapik, Director of Governor Baker’s Western Mass Regional Office, will speak about the initiatives that Gov. Baker has in store for Western Mass and the entire commonwealth. The talk is open to the public.

The Rotary Club of Southwick is excited to host Knapik and he is no stranger to that community having represented the town of Southwick during his two plus decades as state senator.

“He’s a terrific speaker,” said Rotary Club member Bob Fox. “I think he’s well liked, well respected.”

Fox says that the Rotary Club tries to have a guest speaker one Wednesday a month. This month’s guest speaker is yet another opportunity for the community to hear a local official like Knapik.

“There’s a lot of stuff in the state that’s affecting our community,” said Fox. “I think it’s a great opportunity (for the public).”

If anyone is interested in attending the event, contact Fox at 413-579-4585. Dinner is also available for $17.00 per person and reservations are required.

Knapik was recently a guest on the Westfield News Radio Show on Jan. 12 speaking about Gov. Baker’s approach to western Mass.
