Leo A. Dube

DubeLeoWESTFIELD – Leo Armand Dube, 93, of Westfield died Monday June 3, 2013 at the Soldier’s Home in Holyoke. He was born in Chicopee Falls on October 10, 1919 to Romeo and Lydia (Jacques) Dube and moved to Westfield in 1960.
Leo was employed as a tool make for Micron Tool Company in Southwick for nineteen years, retiring in 1984. Prior to that Leo worked for Savage Arms in Westfield. He was a WWII US Naval Veteran, serving on the USS Finch DE 328 in the Pacific and European theaters. Leo was a member of American Legion Post 124 in Westfield the VFW in Southwick and the Destroyer Escort Saver Association in Springfield. He was an avid hockey fan and enjoyed watching the Red Soxs’ and the Celtics.
Leo was the widower of Lillian H. (Plock) Dube who died, August 15 2011. They were married for sixty-nine and one half years. Leo leaves two daughters, Donna L. Aquilante of Westfield and Sandra L Baker of Gloucester. He also leaves a sister, Yvonne Lambert of Chicopee Falls; two grandchildren, Melissa Holmes and Amanda Baker; and four great grandchildren, Travis, Jeremy, Bradlee and Keith, a sister-in-law, Marjorie Bamber and a nephew, Richard Bamber both of Surprise Arizona.  Leo was predeceased by a brother, Eugene Dube and two sisters, Noela St. Marie and Jeanette LaJeunesse.
The funeral will be Friday, June 7, 2013 at 8:30 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service 76 Broad Street, Westfield followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church in Westfield at 9:15 a.m.. Burial will follow at the Mass Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
