I enjoyed reading the Wednesday, Nov. 17, edition of your newspaper, especially since there was a very nice sports article along with photos of the Westfield Junior Bombers football team, regarding their recent Super Bowl victory!
This football team, along with the pee wee youth football team, practiced for many long hours, and played their hearts out in their scheduled games throughout the season. … It was disappointing to see the pee wee team lose at the very end of the season, but they should all hold their heads high with pride at what they had accomplished out there on the football field of play.
I feel that it would have been nice, had the Westfield Bombers girls cheerleading squad also been mentioned with this recent article, as these young girls also worked very hard at their respective weekly practice sessions, and were there for each scheduled football game this season to cheer their team on, as well as to motivate the spectators in the stands.
These young girls also went “above and beyond” in their efforts to show up, and cheer on the Westfield Senior High School football team at their Homecoming game, and I think that they deserve some recognition for all of their efforts, for that game as well.
