SOUTHWICK – With Easter coming up this weekend, the Southwick Police Association and Team Justice are set to host their annual Pancake Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.
The event takes place from 7 a.m. until noon at Moo-Licious Farm on Feeding Hills Road in Southwick. It will cost adults $8 for the Pancake Breakfast, and $6 for children and seniors. The Easter Egg Hunt will occur at 9 a.m. and again at 11 a.m. Purchase of breakfast will get the customers into the Easter Egg Hunt. According to Moo-Licious owner Joe Deedy, they will donate 75 percent of the proceeds to the Southwick Police Association.
“These non-profits have a great way to raise several thousands of dollars in one shot,” said Deedy. “That’s what the key of this is.”
Southwick Police Officer David Massai will help run the event this year, and knows how important donations are for the community.
“These types of events help fund the Southwick Police Association,” said Massai.
Massai added that the money raised typically helps with scholarships for high school students, numerous charitable events for families and other events that Team Justice takes part in.
Although the funds will be going directly to the Southwick Police Association, past president of the Southwick Police Association, Team Justice member and Southwick Police Lt. Kevin Bishop, said that Team Justice members will be volunteering and will have dirt bikes on display for the families.
“We’re just hoping for good weather and for everybody to have a good time,” said Bishop.
This event has taken place at Moo-Licious since they moved to their Feeding Hills Road location in 2012. Deedy mentioned that there has always been a good turnout, with around 120 people attending last year’s gathering.
If anyone is interested in donating, checks can be made out to the Southwick Police Association.
