Louis V. Sabadosa

WESTFIELD – Louis “Louie” V Sabadosa, 91, died Friday, August 23, 2013 at the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke. Born and raised in Westfield, he was a resident of Westfield for most of his life.
Louie attended St. Mary’s School and was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater. He was a retired employee for the City of Westfield School Department and was a former longtime employee at the North Elm Butcher Block in Westfield. Louie was a communicant of Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Church and a member of the American Legion Post 454, The Italian Fraternal Club, and St Rocco’s Men’s Club, all in Westfield. He was an avid Boston Red Sox, Celtics, and Patriots fan.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mildred (Henderson) in 2003 and by his son, Gavin in 1969. Louie leaves his son, Bryan and his wife Joan (Lemire), and his daughter, Lesley Phipps and her husband Kenneth all of Westfield; a grandson, George Phipps of Westfield, and his great-grandaughters, Danielle and Alexandra of Westfield who will miss their great grandpa “Sabby”, and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral and visitation hour will be Tuesday 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the Robert E Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street (Route 20), followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke Road, with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, all in Westfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Soldiers’ Home, 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
