HOLYOKE – Louis P. Plourde, 88,(1931-2020) passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at the Holyoke Soldiers Home. He was born in Caribou, Maine to the late Leon and Roseanna (Paradis) Plourde. Louis served his country with the United States Air Force from 1951-1972, retiring as a Chief Master SGT, receiving many medals and decorations over his career. Louis received a business degree, and was employed by GAB Business Services in New Jersey and retired in 1993. He loved to travel and see the country in his motor home.
Sadly he was predeceased by his beloved wife Jacqueline M. (Savard) Plourde in 2009 and six sisters, Emma Whitt, Louise Espling, Rita Phelan, Cecile Espling, Laura Sweeney and Regina Beaumier. He is survived by his loving son, Patrick L. Plourde in Springfield, two brothers, Joseph Plourde of South Carolina and George Plourde of Oklahoma, and four sisters, Elizabeth Beaulieu of Caribou, Maine, Theresa Andrews of Woodlawn, Maine, Florence White of Westfield and AnnMarie (Plourde) Plourde of Agawam. Services will be held at later date in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.
