Southwick Police believe that this was a targeted home invasion and was not a random act of violence. According to Chief Kevin Bishop, the Southwick Police Department has no concerns that this incident will affect the rest of the community’s safety as it is being considered an isolated issue.

The male who was injured was given first aid at the scene and transported to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.

According to Chief Bishop Tuesday afternoon, the man’s toddler-aged daughter suffered injuries during the attack and was also brought to an area hospital. There were no signs of her being shot.

Bishop added that he can’t reveal the identity of either individual or any additional information about this incident as the Hampden District Attorney’s Office is looking into this investigation.
