Humason, Knapik and Boldyga announce Firefighter Exam

WESTFIELD – State Representatives Don Humason, Jr (R-Westfield) and Nicholas Boldyga (R-Southwick) and State Senator Michael Knapik (R-Westfield) announced today that there will be a Municipal Civil Service Firefighter examination on Saturday, April 28.
The Massachusetts Human Resource Division (HRD) of the Executive Office of the Administration and Finance is responsible for the administration of this state-wide entry-level exam.
The list resulting from this exam will determine the pool of applicants eligible for appointment to the position of Firefighter in cities and towns covered by the Civil Service Statute for two years following the establishment of the eligible list.
The deadline to apply to take the exam is Monday, March 19.
Those interested can apply online at www.mass.gov/civilservice. The cost of the exam before the deadline is $100. There will be an additional $50 processing fee for applications received after March 19. Applications will not be accepted after April 2.
