Marcella M. Cooper

WESTFIELD – Marcella M. (Foley) Cooper died Saturday, December 8, 2012. Born in Springfield on February 27, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Stella (Hennessey) Foley, and widow of Roy Cooper of Chester.
She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Grammar and High School in Springfield. Marcella was a retired employee of N.E. Tel and Tel, now Verizon, and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. She enjoyed painting and ceramics and also took part in theater productions.
She was predeceased by her brother-in-law Richard Swords; her god child and niece, Pamela (Swords) Gay and her nephews, Kevin and Patrick Swords. Marcella leaves her sister, Barbara Swords; niece, Cynthia Smith; nephew, Keith and his wife Rebecca Swords, Leah Swords and Michael Smith. She also leaves 16 great grand nephews and nieces and 2 great-great grand nephews.
Funeral services will be private with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield. The Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home is assisting her family with arrangements.
