SPRINGFIELD – Margaret N. (Coleman) Callahan, 78, of Springfield passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Baystate Hospital. She was born in Westfield on November 3, 1938 daughter of the late George and Margaret (Palmer) Coleman. Margaret grew up in Westfield and graduated from Cooley Dickinson Hospital in 1960. She moved to Southwick for many years before moving to Springfield in 1989. She worked at Forest Park in the office, prior to that, she worked at Heritage Hall and Noble Hospital as a nurse. Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Jay W. Callahan. She leaves her two sons, Brett A. Callahan of Westfield, Shannon D. Callahan of Springfield and a daughter, Michele A. (Callahan) Degray of Springfield. She also leaves one sister, Shirley (Coleman) Ritchie of Westfield and eight grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 10 at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
