Marilyn J. Lockwood

DANVERS, MA – Marilyn J. ( Pitoniak ) ( Murphy ) Lockwood, 81, of Danvers and formerly of Beverly died Wednesday June 5, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Born in Westfield, MA, Marilyn was the daughter of the late Sophia ( Swotchak ) and Stephen Pitoniak. She was the widow of the late James E. Murphy Sr. and the late Luke Lockwood.
Educated in Westfield and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Westfield. Marilyn worked for 20 years as a L.P.N., after graduation from the Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MA. At the age of 40, she received her R.N. from North Shore Community College while raising six children. Marilyn was the creator of the Beverly’s Own Salad Dressing line of products. Direct from her gourmet kitchen, she created the classic Bermuda Pink Poppyseed dressing that was sold in supermarkets and specialty food shops all over New England. Marilyn enjoyed cooking, traveling and sailing. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her three daughters, Deborah J. Belleau and her husband Bradley of Danvers, Coleen A. Bornstein and her husband David of North Reading, Kelly A. Ford and her husband Anthony of Danvers; three sons, James E. Murphy Jr. of West Roxbury, Thomas P. Murphy and Patrick J. Murphy both of Beverly; one brother, Phillip Pitoniak of Westfield and the late Stephen Pitoniak; her five sisters, Barbara Kochanek of Russell, MA, Phyllis Casey of West Springfield, Eleanore Dineen of Shrewsbury, Joanne Perryman of Douglas, MA. Carolyn Pirola of Westfield; twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peters Church, 22 State Street, Westfield, Monday, June 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, North Beverly.
