WESTFIELD: Martha Elizabeth Garcia age 82, passed away quietly as she slept in her home in Westfield June 29, 2020. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Richard Garcia. Born Martha Elizabeth Sullivan on May 29, 1938, to the late Kerry and Martha Sullivan on Meadow St., Westfield, where she was raised. She went to school at St. Mary’s church and was raised to be truthful and to treat others with respect. She was a loving wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. Mart loved to dance and was very good at it at an early age. She loved dancing with her husband ‘Rit’. She loved spending summers in their cottage in Otis and loved to vacation at Cape Cod. She enjoyed antiques, astrology, tag sales, politics and casinos, but especially loved all her family and friends. Mart would show up whenever needed and be there for you. You could always count on Mart to make you laugh with her quick wit and great sense of humor. Mart was an active participant with the League of Women Voters. She also volunteered her time with the Blessed Sacrament Church. Her personality was delightful and she was nice to everyone she encountered. She will be fondly missed by her loving daughters Mart Garcia RN, Leigh Garcia- Godbout, Brenda Garcia, Noreen Garcia, and her Grandchildren Tessa, Evan, Lauren, Deidra, and a Great-Grand daughter Baesline, and many nieces and nephews.

Her Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 16th at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA, a special religious Holiday known as Feast of Our Lady Mt. Carmel, so fitting for a wonderful woman. The celebration will be between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, with Father John being there at 1:00 PM. Her favorite music and pictures will fill us with joy. Hosted by Mart Garcia RN, her eldest daughter.
