Mary A. Zomek

Southwick- Mary A. (Florek) Zomek, 104 years of age, passed away on November 9, 2019 at Noble Hospital. She was the wife for 63 years to the late Stanley Zomek, who preceded her in 1997. Mary was born in Westfield on July 21, 1915 a daughter of the late Ignacy and Salamea (Ciewiec) Florek. She spent her early years growing up on the family farm. After her marriage she settled in Southwick.

Mary was a very talented cake decorator and for 20 years delighted customers at the Donut Shop in Westfield ,until it closed. She then went on to Stanley Home Products, and for 13 years she did catering for special events; which included creating wedding cakes. Mary was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church, Westfield.

Mary is survived by her loving family- her four children, Stanley Zomek and his wife Marion, Loretta A. Fedora-O’Connor and her husband Donald, John Zomek and his wife Joanne, and Carol Sullivan all of Westfield. She also leaves a brother, Edward Florek of Westfield; 8 grandchildren, Robert Fedora and his wife Doreen of Russell, Brenda Fedora, Jacqueline Zering and her husband David, all of Westfield, Thomas Fedora and his wife Liz of New York, Lisa Miller and Linda Gallo both of Westfield, Colleen Beach and her husband Jeffrey of Millis, MA, Christopher Sullivan and his wife Kathy of Florida; nine great grandchildren, Tyler Zering of Westfield, Amberlee Miller of Philadelphia, Michael Miller of Granville, Anthony Gallo of Southwick, Cody Jette of Westfield, Kiefer Sullivan of Florida, Eric Beach of Boston, Kaelyn Beach and Lauren Beach both of Millis, MA; one great great granddaughter, Joanna Sullivan of Florida; and many extended family members and friends.

A calling hour will take place from 8:00AM until 9:00AM on Thursday (Nov.14, 2019) at the Southwick Forastiere Family Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick; a funeral mass will follow at 10:00AM in Holy Trinity Church, Westfield. Mary will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westfield. The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Governor’s Center in Westfield, and to the emergency room staff at Noble Hospital for their loving and attentive care.
