MEREDITH, NH – Mary (Davis) Donsker, 90, a longtime resident of Welch Island, Gilford, NH and Fort Lee, NJ, passed away peacefully in sleep at the age of 90, during the early hours of December 27, 2012 in Meredith, NH. She was born in Southwick, MA to the Rev. William and Maud Davis.
She was graduated from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and obtained her master’s degree in Economics at the University of Minnesota. There she met her future husband Monroe D. Donsker who was a distinguished professor of mathematics at New York University until his death in 1991. Mary was a talented water color artist who enjoyed painting and writing and she loved to travel.
She is survived by her second husband, Nejet Polat of Istanbul, Turkey; four cousins and two nephews.
