RUSSELL – Mary “Bernie” (Beno) Hawk, 78, a retired secretary for 20 years for Mass Fire Equipment, died Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at home. Born on April 9, 1935 in Ford City, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Vincent Beno and Mary (Tarnek) Beno. She was a graduate of Ford City High School.
Mary was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Harold G. Hawk, who passed away on May 19, 2007. She leaves a son, Kenneth M. Hawk of Russell; two daughters, Cheryl A. Meskevich and her husband Michael of Russell and Lori K. Wingate of Westfield; a sister, Martha Cippel of Pennsylvania; six grandchildren, Ryan and Lane Meskevich, Courtney (Hawk) St. Peter and her husband Gary, Tyler, Kyle and Jacob Wingate; and a great granddaughter, Madison St. Peter. She was predeceased by her brothers, Vincent Beno of PA and Andrew Beno of TN.
A private service will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, MA. There are no calling hours.
