WESTFIELD – Michael P. Peretti, 61, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2013. He was born in Springfield on March 22, 1952, son of the late Mario and Jeanette (Bertoldi) Peretti and grew up in Agawam.
He graduated from Putnam Vocational High School in Springfield in 1971. Michael was employed for 35 years as a mechanic for H.P. Hood Inc. in Agawam and Suffield CT. and as a mechanic for 32 years for Sears & Roebuck in West Springfield and Holyoke. He was a member of the Agawam and Westfield Sportsman’s Club and past member of the Hampden Ponds Association. Michael was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed spending time with his children.
He leaves his wife of 22 years, Barbara (Taylor); a son, Mario Peretti; a daughter, Jeanette Peretti all of Westfield and his sister, Regina Wiegert and her husband Walter of Essex, CT. He also leaves his niece, Elaina Lempke of Southwick and his brother-in-law, Benny Almena of Agawam. He was predeceased by his sister, Maria Almena.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 1st at 9:00 a.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
