WESTFIELD – Michael W. Monahan, 74, (1949-2023) died suddenly Saturday, December 30th, 2023, at Baystate Hospital. He grew up in Agawam MA and attended local schools. After High 
School he enlisted in the Army and served from 1968 to 1971 which included a tour in Vietnam. He received a BS in Mechanical 
Engineering from UMass Amherst. He was employed by Digital Equipment Corporation from 1977-1994 until the company’s closure. He then started a computer repair business and provided repair and educational support to his customers. He retired in 2018.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Catherine Monahan. He leaves his wife of 43 years Linda (Gilmore) Monahan of Westfield and brother James Monahan (Susan) of Holyoke as well as two nieces, Jenifer Werner (Joe) and Alyson Maldanado (Elias) and their families.
He leaves several cousins and many cherished friends from Digital and his PC business. Michael was a member of the local Kiwanis group and enjoyed playing pool and taking exercise classes at the local senior center.
