WESTFIELD – Michelle A. McGregor, 62, of Westfield MA, passed away peacefully at home, on Friday, January 24th. Born to the late John Beck and Lucille (Thibault) Beck, she attended local schools, where she found her “tribe” of lifelong friends.
She went on to work at Western Mass Hospital for over 30 years, touching the lives of so many along the way. Always one to have a funny comment or anecdote, she knew how to make people smile and laugh. When her kids were young you could find her, and her husband at the time, Eddy, running around from baseball and softball fields to soccer fields, cheering them on loud and proud. As the kids grew older, she found her passions in baking, often creating elaborate birthday cakes for her kids, grandkids and nieces and nephews, as well as gardening and crafting. So passionate in fact, you will find an entire craft store at her home that she now leaves to her children who have no idea what to do with it!
Suffering from a long list of ailments later in life, her hobbies shifted to things like watching her old TV Land shows on full volume on her phone, snuggling under so many blankets that you almost couldn’t find her, and telling her granddogs to “knock it off!” every time a jogger passing the house would set them off. As much as they annoyed her, she loved her pets very much. Her beloved cat Stella, was usually laying on her head, her chest, or was wrapped around her neck like a scarf. As long as her baby was happy, it didn’t matter how uncomfortable Michelle was. She was always putting others first.
As the baby of the family, she leaves behind her brother Tom Beck of Chester MA, and Linda George of Sutton NE, and Linda’s children, Laurie, Peter and Michael, whom she loved as her own. To cherish her memory, she also leaves her children Amanda, husband Tim, Randy, Kelsey, and husband Josh, to figure out how to get through life without her. Michelle leaves her beloved grandchildren, Alivia, Keira, Jaida, Tricia, Sophia and Keagan, who will all miss her so very much.
Calling hours are Wednesday, January 29th from 4-7 p.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home in Westfield. A celebration of life will follow at 6:30 p.m. Donations in Michelle’s name can be made to the Westfield Homeless Cat Project. www.firtionadams.com
