New Faces of Country

UNCASVILLE, CT – The Wolf Den in the Mohegan Sun Casino is the definitive place for checking out up and coming country musical acts.  The Wolf Den has a packed schedule every month and continues to have a weekly focus of country artists on the rise every Thursday and Sunday night of the week.   This past week showcased two emerging artists that are making their way up the country charts and looking to leave their individual mark in the business.

Brandon Lay

Brandon Lay showcased his talents this past Thursday with an interesting but great set of originals and cover songs.  Lay has only released singles so far but recently signed a record deal with Universal so there is a hope a full length release should be coming soon.

Lay took full advantage of his 90 minute set and hit on all his singles that he has released, but also included some new music in the set.  Some highlights of the set were his original songs Let It, Yada Yada Yada and Speakers, Bleachers and Preaches, which alone has over 35 million streams on Spotify.  With a limited amount of original music to choose from Lay included some great covers of Matchbox 20’s 3 AM and Tom Petty’s Mary Jane.

Sunday night brought young country artist Jameson Rodgers to the Wolf Den for a highly energetic set.  Rodgers so far has produced two EP’s with a total of 9 original songs.  Jameson has a large online following which also includes millions of streams of his music.

Jameson Rodgers

Jameson’s set was high energy from start to finish and really played to the crowd by interacting with them throughout the night.  Some highlight songs from the night included Some Girls, Midnight Daydream, Rehab and Girls That Smoke.

Jameson is also in line to release a full length record soon and based on his stage presence coupled with some great music, look out for this guy!

It is always refreshing to hear new music and artists that are hungry to make it in the business.   Whether they are opening up for some of country’s mega stars or simply playing in a bar to twenty people, you know you are going to get their best performance.

Check out Mohegan’s website for acts coming to the Wolf Den and get yourself immersed in the future of country music.  These shows are free and on a first come first serve basis.  Some shows fill the Den to capacity, while others allow you to walk right in and listen to a full set of music at no charge.  Take advantage of it soon and witness the next super stars of country music.
