SOUTHWICK – Owners of a new food establishment in town met with the Select Board during Monday night’s meeting for a meet and greet.
Marc and Jessica Robling of Barkhamsted, Conn. are the owners of The Launch, located on 81 Point Grove Rd., overlooking Congamond Lake. The new venture assumes the space previously occupied by Legends of the Lake, which closed in May. The Robling’s closed on purchasing the building on August 22.
“We love the area, we thought it was a great fit,” said Jessica Robling. “It’s a friendly town.”
The space is approximately 4,900 sq. ft. with a dining room that holds 74 people and an outdoor patio overlooking Congamond Lake that has an additional capacity of 40 people. There is a smaller dining room that has an occupancy of 30 and can be used for private parties. According to the Roblings, the property has 70 parking spots.
Prior to acquiring the building on 81 Point Grove Rd., the Roblings ran a food service for the Westminster School, a boarding school in Simsbury, Conn.. The couple also ran a catering business on the side and will be continuing that at The Launch, making it accessible for people to host brunches.
