WESTFIELD – Emma’s Everyday Gourmet opens Monday with a menu that aims to please both the palette and the wallet.
Gianpaolo Sesti and his family, former owners of Piccolo’s, have teamed up with partner Paul Longton to open Emma’s.
Named after Sesti’s daughter, who is a partner in the business, Emma’s Everyday Gourmet offers lunch and dinner six days a week at 45 Washington St.
“Maximum quality at a minimum price is our goal,” said Sesti, who designed the menu himself.
Chef Sesti created a modern Italian menu with portion sizes to suit customer needs. Most items come in lunch and dinner portions, and many come in personal, family and “for two” options. Prices range from $3 for a persona house salad to $24 for pasta and seafood entrees for two.
“And everything is available for takeout,” said Sesti. “We also do catering and deliver to most of Westfield.”
Emma’s will offer daily specials. Appetizers include bruschetta al pomodoro and roasted wild mushrooms. Entrees include your choice of chicken, veal, rib eye, sirloin and eggplant in a variety of styles, such as al forno and piccata. Pasta and seafood offerings include pescatore and fra diavolo. Pizza, burgers and grinders round out the menu. For those with a sweet tooth, Emma’s Everyday Gourmet has stuffed cannoli, cookie platters , and mini pastries. They also have whole roasted meats for takeout and delivery with 24 hours notice.
In addition to Emma, Sesti’s daughter Lauren and his wife Donna are on staff. Donna chose the decor for the restaurant, which Sesti described as “family friendly, modern Italian.”
There is a Tuscan feel in the open dining room where a full liquor bar will soon open.
Emma’s Everyday Gourmet is open for lunch Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., and Monday through Saturday from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. for dinner. Sunday is available for private parties. A website, www.emmaseverydayGourmet.com, is under construction.
