WESTFIELD – The Westfield Intermediate School Kiwanis Builders Club held its Pajama Program fundraiser for the month of February. All homerooms were challenged to “Fill The Pajama Pants” with cash to be donated to the Pajama Program of Western Mass. This program brings brand new, warm pajamas and nurturing books to kids living in homeless shelters in Springfield, Holyoke and all surrounding areas. The total amount raised for the Pajama Program was $1,519.77. In third place bringing in $305 dollars was Mrs. Brennan’s 5th grade homeroom. The second place homeroom bringing in $328 dollars was Mrs. Alben’s 5th graders. The homeroom that won the challenge and the prize of a limousine ride to Amelia Park Ice Arena and back to school was Mr. Wroth’s 6th grade, which collected $500 dollars.
The prizes were generously donated by Michael’s Limousine of Agawam. Brian Barnes of Amelia Park donated the one-hour block of ice time. The Kiwanis Builders Club is grateful for the generous donations from our area businesses to help build excitement for the homeroom challenge.
