DEMING, NM – Nicholas (Nick) Marcus Doshas, 46, of Deming, NM died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 27th. Nick was visiting the Grand Canyon with his father when he fell ill. Nick was born in Holyoke, MA on June 1, 1973. The first and only son of Charlene M. Doshas (nee Morris) and Robin F. Doshas. He grew up in Westfield, MA, playing many sports including soccer, baseball, and football, and tormenting his 3 sisters. He graduated from Westfield Vocational High School in 1991. He studied at Springfield Technical Community College and worked as an Electrician’s apprentice.
In 1997 he became the proud papa, along with proud mama Kelly Gilbert, of Samuel Marcus Doshas. He found profound joy and purpose in being a father. He later trained as a phlebotomist and worked for Labcorp in Eastern MA. He carried a lifelong commitment to the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, and found and embraced Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour. In 2017, he relocated to Deming, NM to live and look after his father. He is survived by his mother, Charlene M. Doshas of Hendersonville, NC, his father, Robin F. Doshas and canine companion, Jasmine, of Deming, NM; sister Andrea Ricci and husband Brian of West Springfield, MA; sister Alexis Doshas and husband Tony Leonard of Williamsville, VT; sister Allison Ramsay and husband Ben of Hendersonville, NC; son Sam Doshas of Petersham, MA, and stepson, Nathan Gilbert of Michigan. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and several nephews and a niece.
