WESTFIELD – The City Clerk’s office posted a reminder of the importance to voters of returning the annual Census form on the city website at www.cityofwestfield.org. Voters who did not return the Annual Street Listing (City Census), will be placed on the Inactive Voter List (MGL Chapter 51, Section 4) as of May 30.
For anyone who did not receive a Census, a link for a new Census form is available to download on the website, and may be mailed to the City Clerk’s Office, 59 Court Street, Westfield, MA 01085.
City Clerk Karen M. Fanion said a confirmation post card will be sent in June to every voter who did not respond, in order to be placed back on the Active Voter List (MGL Chapter 51, Section 37). Fanion said if there is no voting activity after four years, they will be removed from the voter rolls.
Fanion said voters on the inactive list may still go to the polls and vote, but they will have to fill out an affirmation that they still live in Westfield, and provide identification.
