The Westfield United U12 girls won their division’s post-season tournament while the U13 and U14 girls teams fell just short in their finals games.
The U12 Girls won 1-0 on a thrilling overtime goal from Sidney Brady. The U13s suffered a 3-1 setback and the U14’s lost 2-0. For the U12’s Heather Lannon, Morgan Zabielski and Lindsey Kiltonic controlled the midfield, providing many scoring opportunities for Miranda Grochowski, Mairaed Hagan and Caitlyn Conroy up front. Katie Neilson, Sophia Carellas, Sidney Brady and Lindsey Liptak anchored a tough defense allowing only 2 shots on goalie Sam Lisowski. Sarah Grobe almost had the game winner in the first half with a shot that rang off the post. The Westfield girls finished the season 9-3-2.
