GIRLS’ CROSS COUNTRY
Westfield 15, Holyoke 49
The Westfield girls’ cross country team wrapped up the regular season on Tuesday with a home meet against Holyoke High. The Bombers celebrated “Senior Day” recognizing their teammates who will be graduating this year: Amanda Baird, Tori Dansereau, Emily Doiron, Catherine Fenwick, Vivian Liu, Christine Mastrioanni, Mary Steger, Sierra Swords, Hannah Widstrand and graduating Junior Emma Murray.
Cool temps and brisk winds made both teams anxious to begin the 3.1 mile run through Stanley Park. Westfield High enjoyed a home course advantage turning in several best times, and outpacing the Holyoke girls’ team (15- 49).  The first six runners to cross the finish line were Sierra Swords (20:50), Jen Gresty (21:51), Ally Morin (22:53), Shannon Boley (23:05), Amanda Baird (23:09), and Kaliegh Florek (23:48) from Westfield.  Grace Hamel (24:39) was the top finisher for Holyoke followed by Westfield’s Nichole Plasse (24:48), Emily Doiron (24:55) to round out the top 10 finishers.
The win boosts the Bombers overall record to 7-3 overall, 3-2 league.
