Open Doors Housing Fair slated for area

HOLYOKE – HAPHousing will host an Open Doors Housing Fair to share information about the full range of housing services the organization offers, including its first-time homebuyer and foreclosure prevention programs, on Wednesday, May 13, from 4-7 p.m. at the Holyoke Public Library, 250 Chestnut Street. The fair is free and open to the public.
In addition to information about how to prepare for buying your first home and how to prevent or deal with foreclosure on your mortgage, the fair will also offer information about how to access home improvement loans, tips on reducing your household expenses through energy savings and ways to become more involved in addressing needs in your community.
A team of HAPHousing experts including representatives from its Housing Consumer Education Center will be available to provide information for tenants, landlords, prospective homebuyers and homeowners. Information will also be available for those at risk of homelessness or presently living in emergency housing.
Updates about the HAPHousing Library Commons development in Holyoke will also be featured, which is located on Chestnut, Essex and Elm Streets that will build off of the state-of-the-art renovation of the Holyoke Public Library.
Those who would like to attend can stop in anytime during the fair. For more information, contact Curtis Wiemann at [email protected] or (413) 233-1639.
