WESTFIELD – Pasculita passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November
20th, 1938 to Wilford and Mary Peyope and raised on the Fort Hall reservation in Idaho. She was very proud of her Native American heritage, being a full-blooded member of the Shoshone/Bannock tribe.
After completing her high school education and attending BYU in Provo Utah, she enlisted in the United States Army. She was eventually sent to Pirmasens Germany, where she specialized in communications as a decoder, a very prominent position. While serving in Germany, she met the love of her life Gordon. They met at a dance, and she was smitten by his blue eyes, and he asked her to dinner and that was the beginning of their love story. They were married for 65 wonderful years, raising their family in Westfield, then moving to a horse farm in Montgomery and eventually retiring to North Carolina, to enjoy more farm life raising chickens, champion goats and sheep, and rescuing the many stray cats and dogs that wandered onto the property. Lita was a wonderful hostess of many family picnics and holiday celebrations. She enjoyed horseback riding, was a champion bowler, a member of the Red Hatter’s Society; ushering many concerts with her husband to see the acts they loved. She was a green thumb, enjoyed word search puzzles and was an avid reader.
Pasculita is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years Gordon, her son Scott and his wife Allison of Montgomery, her daughter Nyla of Agawam, and a granddaughter Diana of Montgomery who gave her so much joy. She also will be missed by her cherished and faithful companion Daisy.
We would like to thank the staff at Vantage Nursing and Rehab Westfield, Agawam South, and Baystate Hospice for all their care and compassion.
